| Hi Alison, that is great news. I think if you do intensive opti for a month before the surgery, you can't go wrong. I have never done opti so can't comment on the amount you will lose but it all helps. You should have a lovely liver anyway. Linda |

| Hello everyone I have finally got a date!!!!! The 16th October is B-Day LOL Now I have to get everything else ready. I have decided that I will need to do a month of optifast to lose the weight he has asked me too! So I will be starting mid September. I will be using it to replace all 3 meals. Does anyone have any opinions if this will be enough time to lose the 10 - 15 kilos he wants me to? thanks Allison |

We tend to forget at times that there is a very small percentage of problems that do occur and what bad luck that one of OUR buddies has to be in that percentage. | Hi Guys, Thanks for your kind words. I have come to terms with it, and actually have lost a few more. But with what everyone is saying, im really concerned about getting a date to get the port put back in. Dr D said 2 months. I hope I dont have to go through what you guys are, just to get an appointment!! Anyway, I wont commit yet but I hope to be able to come to lunch this time... Third time lucky! |

| Sorry Claudette, I missed your post - that's awful. Keep your chin up. I had to have all of my fill out because of my reflux and there's no point getting anymore put in until the associated problems are fixed up - I've put on 2kgs!! My fault, I've eaten too much, but I'm also gyming it 6 days a bl.oody week - imagine how bad the damage would be without that! I guess we just have to think that at least its going to be fixed and we can start dropping again. Cheers Jo. |

What a bummer. 1ml probably won't give you much restriction, but I suppose he couldn't afford to give you any more as he wouldn't be able to take it out in case of trouble. | I've recently spoken to a couple of people who were waiting for 'the' phone call - one waited a month and the other was longer. I wouldn't be waiting by the phone =p Jo. |

| Hi peoples, Sorry to hear about the infection Claudette. Hope your doing better. Alison have you received a phone call yet? It's been over a week since my last appointment with Dr D and I'm going insane waiting for the nurse to call. I know I'm going to have to wait for surgery but it's this waiting for a phone call that's driving me nuts. Once I have a date, whether it be August, September or next year I'll be ok but its not hearing anything that's frustrating. Sorry for whinging but it is whinge wednesday. Hope everyone is good. | Hi Guys, Sorry I missed lunch. I have actually spent the last week in hospital. After my bad experience trying to get my first fill, I came down with an infection in the port. Last wed night I got a fever and pretty bad pain around the port. Rang the surgery on thursday and they told me to go strait to st johns. Long and the short of it is, they had to take the port out. I have to go back in a few months so they can put a new one in. What a nightmare! He put one mil in, to give me some restriction, but I have to say it hasn't done much. Its just such a dissapointment to have come so far and have this set back. Dr D has been very good. |

| April I had Dr Deutscher in Ballarat in Dec 2006. I believe his waiting time now is something like 6 months to a year. His charge for fills is around $130. You are about $30 out of pocket after the medicare rebate. I have had 7 fills. Linda |
