Hu, probably because his accountant won't have it finalised until closer to the due date in May 2009.
Anke, You might be able to use an estimate of your defactos income but be aware that there are many ways spouse/de facto income can effect your tax calculation and if an error is found you will most likely incur penalties. |

there are serveral suitations for you to choose to provide spouse detail:

for individual: taxable income over $16740, you need pay medicare levy
for family: taxable income over $22800, you need pay medicare
3. medicare surcharge

I am a sole trader and want to use e-tax for my tax return. I live together with my boyfriend so I have to give up his income as my spouse. Because he has a business himself, his taxable income will not be available till somewhere next year. How do I deal with this, as I want to lodge my return before the end of October. I do not claim any spouse related tax-offsets so I feel his income is irrelevant for my individual tax return. Hope someone can help me on this one.
Thanks!
