So now this ahole has changed names. Any company that needs to drum up business on a message board is highly suspect.
Don't give this scumbag any of your personal details it's just another scam. |

Any advice appreciated
1. Don't be so dumb as to rely on advice from a message board
2. Get an accountant |

Hi, I've just moved overseas and was hoping for some friendly advice from some experts.
My situation:
* 45yr old Australian citizen who has just moved overseas for 2-3 years with his family on a secondment by Australian based company.
Assets
------
* Home in Australia worth about AUD900K (owned in joint names)
* Managed funds in my wifes name AUD70K.
* AUD170K in super, my wife AUD40K in super
Debt
----
Home loan: AUD140K, but have $100K in an offset account offsetting most of the interest. Pay AUD$770/fortnight.
Income:
------------------------- --------
* Rented out Australian home: AUD35K/yr
* Australian salary: AUD35K/yr (net of tax. As a non-resident the company pays me in Aus after tax allowance)
* Overseas Salary: equiv of AUD85K/yr (after tax)
* My wife will have little or no income for the coming year.
Outgoings (including loan payments)
---------
* Council rates, living expenses, etc. estimated at AUD58K/yr
Questions:
1) I understand I can offset interest on the loan against rent collected. Is there any benefit adjusting the terms of the loan to benefit in some way. I assume I shouldn't pay it off. Should I continue to offset it.
2) Are there any other issues from a tax perspective I need to be aware of?
3) I get paid the 9% super guarantee but aren't provided with means to salary sacrifice. Is there anything wise I can do to boost my super without using after tax funds?
Any advice appreciated
