Last I heard the consequences of getting these things wrong (and possible being deemed a non complying SMSF) were 5 years of being taxed at the 48.5% penalty rate. It is well worth the money to seek professional help even if it is only to set you up initially with the procedures.

Two items.
1) TO THE MODERATOR: CAN WE HAVE A NEW CATEGORY UNDER THE ABOVE HEADING.
2) In the absence of a separate category, please allow me to ask for help with the following Australian SMSF procedures:
A) An example or template of a SMSF Investment Strategy.
B) An example or template for the SMSF Trustee Minutes
C) Also, what documentation is required to transfer from the Accumulation to Pension phase? I deduce it to be a minuted decision by the Trustees.
If anyone wants to email an example or template of A) or B) to me, I would be grateful.
