How ugly is the credit and is there any equity in the house - meaning what percentage of the hosue value is the loan amount - there maybe some options - depends upon what you can afford though.

I am not sure how your father can force you. He signed a legal document, so if you say no, there is not a lot he can do. The bank certainly will not release him under these circumstances.

HELP!! HOME LOAD DISASTER! Reply to this message
SO 4 YEARS AGO MY BROTHER AND I BOUGHT A HOME AND DID NOT HAVE GOOD CREDIT SO WE SIGNED THE LOAN WITH OUR PARENTS. WELL THREE YEARS LATER THEY GET INTO AN UGLY DIVORCE AND MY FATHER IS FORCING US TO GET HIS NAME OFF SO HE CAN BUY A NEW HOUSE FOR HIM AND HIS GIRLFRIEND. PROBLEM IS BOTH OUR CREDITSCORES ARE STILL UGLY, MY MOTHER CANNOT COSIGN SINCE THE DIVORCE IS NOT FINAL. ANY IDEAS? SUGGESTIONS?
