Dont get me wrong - I prefer not to see them back at 45...and i also hope we have finally bottomed out...but if this is not the case - I'd be buying..I WILL be buying.
"Significant changes etc" - are a good indicator - none more so than when a director sticks his hand deeeeep in his own pocket.
Manipulation theory could have some merit - but i favour that Ospraie still have a lot to sell which is accelerated by Lehman bros going out the back door.
You only lose when you sell - dont sell yet and you wont lose. |

OK. Let it go back to 45 then. I still didnt' loose anything. I wish I had had the guts to trade.
Maybe the people that did are getting out. Nice profits should have been made.
Patience and we'll get there. I sell the barn when it gets back to 45.
I always read: "significant change in major holdership" or something like that on the ASX website. Is there a regulation that dictates when one has to make such an announcement ? Who do we have to think is selling at these prices with such volumes ?
Or do the big boys just want to lay hands on LYC by scaring everybody out. Never ! |

I agree andrew. I bought more at 80 and thought it was a bargain. Means now - my trading shares become investment shares..longer term. There's money in the bank...contracts to supply signed with no ceiling price...Directors buying. Adjust the term of your view - and you be v v happy - and keep watching for more drops to top up..average down.
Hedge Funds being forced out by their own liquidity probs and when the dust settles and instos run the ruler over whats left - these will still be there waiting to be bargain hunted. Could be more drop yet - but its only pain if you have to sell..otherwise, why would you when the best is yet to come? |

| I'm sort of worried about all specs right now, the bum is falling out of the market, where the bottom is who knows but low 4000's is highly likely. By then, stocks like LYC could be significantly lower |

| Liberal win in w.a. should give lyc a lift as the uranium ban will likely be lifted and the thorium sold in its own right and not as a by product. |

Hey gla,
g'day.
You mentioned arafura on a canadian x/change.
That is a dif company to arafura (aru) in aus., i believe.
Dines covered/covers (and still recommends) aru ~ aus, not the other.
They still have both aru + lyc on their long term (massive) growth list / portfolio.
Hope things improve ~ soon.
Hope the w/end is faring well for all ~ great day to be out - NOT in here behind the screen!! G'day jc & greg.
Cheers :) |

G'day JC..yes mate - that link would be good...thank you.
I thought i read of a few instos involved - Goldman Sachs?) - and there were other names easily recognised..I'll have another look later.
Al the same - i think we have realised for some time its a waiting game - and as supply increasingly struggles to keep pace with demand, RE basket prices will rise significantly. LYC have already sold their first years production - and a good deal of the 2nd increased amount - is already sold. Not to mention they have the best quality worldwide, at Mt Weld.
The purchase of Mountain Pass to various financiers shows very strong belief in the industry also. |

hi gregg: gee this forum has really perked up again. whoever asked about molybdenum have a look at MOL.
Gregg - i dont know of any traditional instos who own lyc. this limits those willing to step up to the plate as hedge funds are forced out. how cheap it gets is anyones guess. one thing is likely and that is it will look like absolute XS%#^&* on the way down and at the low. im going to pull the files and revisit this one as i suspect its very cheap even if RE prices move sideways. See that chevron sold mountian pass to goldmans and a few hedgies/private equity firms? i can give you the link if you like. jc |

Do you think bying the 11% was strategic in regard to the takeover - or more to do with closer alliances with "stakeholders" in the development of the country, for want of a better term.
Takeover talk has been on the agenda for a long time - prior to the Chinese buying in I believe. |

| I am sure it still is, but can you see the 11% shareholders approving it? My gut says that is why Swan OKed them to get that much of a holding so he doesn't appear the bad guy when asked to approve it himself. |
