Anyone know about this Chinese Gold company please? Looks interesting to me. Thanks

"China's Zijin Mining a flying start to its $1.28-a-share takeover bid for Indophil, Xstrata's partner in the Tampakan copper/gold deposit in the Philippines."

"The bid from Zijin has been recommended by the Indophil board. The bid price represents an 18 per cent premium to Indophil's last sale price and an 83 per cent premium to its 6-month average.

Zijin is China's biggest gold producer and its third-biggest copper producer.

Shares in Indophil last traded at $1.085 a share ahead of going in to a trading halt ahead of today's bid from Zijin. The offer values Indophil at $545 million on a fully diluted basis, the mid-range of expectations from the formal sales process initiated by the company."

I'd really like to tap into the Chinese market, anyone got any good gold shares there please?

"China Youth Daily has cited Ji Xiaonan, head of supervisory committee at the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration, saying hat China should increase its gold reserves to 6,000 metric tons within 3-5 years and possibly to 10,000 tons in 8-10 years. Xiaonan has also said Dubai’s debt crisis could be China’s opportunity to increase gold and oil assets."

My own estimate posted some time ago was very close to this huge increase in China's gold targets

CTO 12 cents

FML 5 cents

GMI $1.0+

KOR market

Why, these companies togther hold a huge amount of gold safely stored below ground, and have ver low costs of production, or are high quality companies. Plus I expect them to be brought out by Indian, Chinese, European, and other investors...

"In a recent study, John Paulson’s hedge fund holds more gold than many nations including: Brazil, Australia and Romania. His reasoning for being so bullish on the metal is that there are roughly $200 trillion investable assets in U.S. dollars in the world, but only $800 billion of that wealth is in gold."

"According to BCA analysts, at current prices, the U.S.’s gold reserves back only 15 percent of the monetary base. At the peak in gold prices in the early 1980s, the U.S.’s gold reserves were worth more than the outstanding monetary base. This means that gold would have to rise to $8,000 per ounce to back the entire monetary base.

China Youth Daily has cited Ji Xiaonan, head of supervisory committee at the state-owned Assets Supervision and Administration, saying hat China should increase its gold reserves to 6,000 metric tons within 3-5 years and possibly to 10,000 tons in 8-10 years. Xiaonan has also said Dubai’s debt crisis could be China’s opportunity to increase gold and oil assets.

UBS and Goldman Sachs have both increased their gold forecast for 2010 to average about $1,300, as more investors and central banks purchase bullion to preserve wealth against a declining dollar."

"Gold reached another record high above $1,190 per ounce, boosted by a downward revision of third-quarter U.S. economic growth, expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates low for an extended period,

and the possibility of India’s central bank buying the 203 metric tons of gold still for sale by the International Monetary Fund. "

Gold has tanked. Who is now buying shares on Monday in FML, KOR, CTO, GMI etc ??

"As for me I would like to know why FML is not heading for 47.811 cents per share, instead of lower please.

Let me explain the quick and dirty math behind FML = 47.811 cents a share.

1. Gold is now worth $A1309.91 ($US1218.49).

2. FML's cost of production is believed to be $A603

3. FML currently has at least 1,792,000 oz of JORC Gold, excluding any revised additions noted by others.

4. FML appears to have 2,646,143,210 shares.

5. The math suggests the gold safely stored below ground by FML is worth to India, China, and our Mint approximately $1,265,152,000

6. There is no fear that this $1.26B worth of FML gold will be stolen.

7. India has already made a cool $1B on the gold it purchased the other day, and could easily afford to buy out FML and hold the gold in the ground.

8. China is reporting it would like to increase its gold reserves lots (I mean lots, not giving state secrets haha). They are buying gold shares, companies around the world. They will at least mine it, build the infrastructure, and take it to China to meet domestic demand and have reserves there.

9. Australian gold miners can increase their gold reserves buy purchasing say 50% of companies such as FML, KOR, etc.

10. There are other reasons like the gold price is headed for $US2,200/oz etc"

11. Gold is now $us1162, it was $1150

"professor" - i rely on TA alone. The chart is very ugly, no matter what the reason. There is a higher low formed(just) now but nothing like i'd be looking for in something i was willing to put my money on. What price was it when you first started ramping this one? Don't worry, i'll check and answer that myself

RE "p.s what price please? thx!"

Market price is fine Chris! If you are fast in the morning you can get 54,852 shares at 0.180 cents, or 343,208 at 18.5 cents, or try and bottom fish too??

Recall there are only 78,000,000 KOR shares in total.

Re:kor.ax + uau.soon !!!! Reply to this message
Some one please check and tell me where this is wrong please?

Gold is currently more than $1191/oz, KOR's cost of production is less than $300/oz, if they indeed have 3,300,000 oz, and there are only 78,000,000 KOR shares, that sort of seems to indicate that its worth $38.50 a share (3,300,000*$910 = $3,003,000,000 / 78,000,000 = $38.5).

So why are we able to buy this gold at only 15.5 cents per share???

http://goldprice.org/live-gold-price.html = $1191.65

RE "KOR (Korab-Ukraine-Stage 1) has twice as much gold, half the cost of production, and only 78M shares (of which a large chuck appear held by directors) behind the one "free Ukraine Gold" for one KOR plan; i.e., compared to FML which appears to have 2.6B shares, lots less gold, and less margin between FML's costs and gold price?"

Worth some research at least. Current price of KOR 78M share base = probably 17 cents or so

Re:kor.ax + uau.soon !!!! Reply to this message
Recall I suggested buy GMI at say $1.10 and sell at $1.17 or so, now I am suggesting gold produced at less than $300/oz and sold for $1170/oz or so in the Ukraine via KOR. Looks like you get one share for one KOR share, and there are only 78M KOR shares if not mistaken.

"Spin-off of Ukrainian gold and silver mine. Subject to shareholder, regulatory and ASX approvals, Korab intends to transfer its shareholding in the company holding this project to Korab shareholders on a pro rata basis of 1 share in the holding company for each Korab share. Korab has already commissioned European based geological consultants to produce independent geologist report which will include a resource estimate compliant with JORC code and we expect that this report will be completed in January 2010. The spin-off is planned to take place in the first half of 2010."

Other KOR news: "During the last 12 months, Korab has conducted systematic field work program at Batchelor and Green Alligator projects in the Northern Territory where the company holds a suite of tenements within the Rum Jungle mineral field in the Pine Creek orogen. This work included ground geophysical surveys, petrographic studies, geological mapping, rock chip and soil geochemical tests and auger drilling. The board is pleased to tell you that the program has lead to a discovery of a significant geochemical copper and nickel anomaly. Work on this discovery is continuing and further results will be announced to the market when appropriate."

"Melrose gold project has a 306,000 ounce JORC code compliant resource base as shown in the following table. Table 1. Melrose Project Mineral Resource (above 0.5g/t cut-off)"

Take your profits from GMI please? You should have made money now, but if there is a currency (aka USD central bank coordination, seems likely) then commodities and gold will take a short bath. Plus the big sell has left town?? Look at the numbers and info...

Code Last Move % Move Buy Sell Open High Low Volume Value Last Traded
GMI 1.17 0.015 1.30% 1.17 1.185 1.17 1.19 1.17 496,465 584,163

I think buy low (Aussie dollar hurts) sell high... so I think sell now buy later---

PS maybe very wrong...ask Bruce
