Take your profits from GMI please? You should have made money now, but if there is a currency (aka USD central bank coordination, seems likely) then commodities and gold will take a short bath. Plus the big sell has left town?? Look at the numbers and info...
Code Last Move % Move Buy Sell Open High Low Volume Value Last Traded
GMI 1.17 0.015 1.30% 1.17 1.185 1.17 1.19 1.17 496,465 584,163
I think buy low (Aussie dollar hurts) sell high... so I think sell now buy later---
PS maybe very wrong...ask Bruce |

Seriously: "Please take a look at what GMI actually holds (last annual report pp. 3, 10 and 11) GMI holds 20% value gold shares and some of worlds best miners.
Lot of discount buying yesterday ($1.10/share vs book value $1.28+), I expect both to go up significantly before Christmas.
Open $1.095 or so? Buyback program to $1.15 or so. So fairly safe bet, I believe.
Worth a look before/if it's major holdings/earnings jump today/this year...e.g. BHP, Vale, Rio, Impala, Newcrest, Af. Rainbow, ......"
Gold currently at a new high $US1143.24

RE GMI announcements Nov 16, also see names:
"November 16, 2009 - 5:25PM
The manager of two of the world's largest commodities funds expects continued growth in the sector in 2010, with rising numbers of company mergers.
Evy Hambro, a London-based portfolio manager who manages the BlackRock World Mining Fund and the Gold & General Fund, on Monday gave journalists in Australia an upbeat assessment of the sector following last year's collapse in prices.
Mr Hambro said the rapid rise of China, which accounted for about 40 per cent of demand in almost every commodity, and above 50 per cent in some during the second quarter of 2009, was a key reason commodities prices would continue to rise.
"When you have an economy with such a role and such a market share of commodities demand growing at such a rapid rate it is no surprise to see that prices have recovered from the low points of last year," Mr Hambro said."

It is widely used in aerospace and military applications, steel making, super conducting materials, automotive sector and building and construction. Experts believe that the growing demand for lighter, fuel efficient vehicles, super conductors, steel, advanced alloys and eco-friendly building materials will ensure demand for magnesium continues to increase at historical rate of 7% pa.
Fire-resistant, high-strength magnesium building board. Stronger, lighter and cheaper than plasterboard
Chinese Government has put magnesium on its list of strategic materials indicating the value it places on this advanced metal.
Korab's Winchester magnesium project is one of the highest grade magnesium deposits in the world grading on average 91% magnesite (MgCO3).
It is located just 75 km south of the port of Darwin, right on the doorsteps of Asia. The project is serviced by excelled infrastructure including, rail, sealed highway, gas pipeline, high voltage power and potable water. "

"The price of gold hit a record high above $US1100 ($A1207) an ounce in trading on Friday following a report that Sri Lanka had joined India in buying the precious metal in favour of US dollars.
"The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has announced that it is buying gold to diversify its reserves," industry body the World Gold Council (WGC) said in a statement issued before gold struck a record high of $US1101.42."
"Gold and other commodity prices have surged in recent months amid a move away from the dollar, which has been slumping. The move accelerated last month on a report that Gulf states may stop using the greenback for oil trading."
"India is the world's biggest consumer of gold, importing between 700 and 800 tonnes every year or 20 per cent of global demand."
