Thanks Timbo. Believe it or not - I worked it out last Thursday - so I sold on market @ 16.47 and hopefully will have them all reallocated next Monday. If i miss out will wait till they drop further and buy back.

Thanks again., much appreciated.

Re:ANZ - SHARE OFFER Reply to this message
It's all good. There is no need to wait till 13 July to sell those shares, you can do it the same time you sign off for that share offer.
1. Take 1041 shares from offer by $14.40
2. The same time sell short 1041 ANZ CFD through any good provider at current price $16+
Now it does not matter if ANZ price goes up or down - you will lose money on one leg but gain on the other, you have fixed your profit $1.60 per share.
3. Any day after 13 July simulteniously sell shares and close CFD position.

Potential risk: you would not get the full 1041 package of ANZ shares, they always have a clause for that. In this case you'll get not hedged position in CFD and will lose money if ANZ goes up.

Today it looks good. There are at least 3 reasons it could drop away to be not looking so good in 2 weeks though. If in doubt stay out...thats me then.

Re:ANZ - SHARE OFFER Reply to this message
cheap is no good. why people want to sell cheap when it is good. unless you can sell the cheap things to become expensive. ...the logic....follow the market trend ..if nobody wants then it is really cheap.

ANZ - SHARE OFFER Reply to this message
Is anyone intending to take up the ANZ share placement offer at $14.40..and either way - what are your reasons.

With the price where it is, it seems good value to grab your $15k worth on 2 July and sell them @ $16+ when they are alloted on 13 July.

The question is can the price hold above $14.40 until 13 July to make it worthwhile. The initial dilutions will lower them as will the likely sell off on 13 July and should the market tumble - its likely banks will be first in line to get tumbled....so I've almost talked myself out of it in the time its taken me to write this.
