| Of course there is an explanation for it and it's not the only commodity doing well. eg. Look at how copper is going lately. It is because they were oversold to buggery. |

I take the " out and replace them so the printing doesn't have all those funny things in it. But I spoil people on this even though I can't stand most of them.

Metals, Oil, Stocks Advance as Chinese Manufacturing Expands

Aug. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Metals and oil rose, while commodity stocks led the MSCI World Index up for a third day after Chinese manufacturing expanded at the fastest pace in a year.
Copper reached its highest price since October, with nickel and zinc at their strongest levels since September. Crude traded above $70 a barrel for the first time in a month. The MSCI World Index, a gauge of 23 developed markets, added 1 percent at 11:09 a.m. in London, as HSBC Holdings Plcâs first-half profit beat analystsâ estimates. Futures on the Standard & Poorâs 500 Index gained 1.1 percent. The yen fell against all 16 most-traded currencies.
The CLSA China Purchasing Managersâ Index in China, the worldâs biggest consumer of copper and aluminum, rose to a seasonally adjusted 52.8, from 51.8 in June. Commodity prices may extend their rally in 2010 as the global slump abates, said Nouriel Roubini, the New York University professor who predicted the financial crisis. Economists predict U.S. manufacturing probably contracted at the slowest pace in 11 months in July.
âAsia will come out of the recession sooner and help the rest of the world,â said Sintje Diek, an analyst with HSH Nordbank in Hamburg. âWe have had economic indicators that were better than expected, the overall data is pointing to better developments in the coming weeks and months.â
Shares of basic-resource companies and banks led the 1.7 percent rally in Europeâs Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index. BHP Billiton Ltd., the worldâs biggest mining company, gained 2.8 percent in London, while Rio Tinto Group, the third-largest, added 4.8 percent. |

i don't know about it's fundamentals but technically it is overbought now. moving averages well below the price. RSI is highest it's been in the past year. will be making a resistance line if the price comes back from here as it will have made it's 3rd touch. is in a down-sloping trend channel, but a bit of a rough one as there was a little penetration of it's support line last March. So there is enough there for me to want to avoid it. at least for now.
however some really good news that has not been already built into the price could see it go higher from here and negate all this.
BTW i'm only a ventriloquist's dummy but i'm not up to any mischief like all the other dummies on this. my ventriloquist is brukevlay. one of the good guys here. he is teaching me TA. |
