| huge diversity in pricing of food in US, depends on if you want your kids to have 10 toes or 11. Need to be careful the stats aren't skewed because of different products being compared. |

The Labor Department says food prices are up 4.1% for the 12-months ended June. Things people have to eat such as eggs are up 19.5%, milk 13.3%, fresh chicken 10%, naval oranges 19.8%, apples 11.7%, dried beans 11.5% and white bread 9.6%.

| no - i buy the best quality - not *** - it costs more - as does everything else - apples were just an example - anyway - $4 is by and large the going rate (plus or minus a bit) - where do you shop - the orchard? - just got stats in from the USA - apples are expensive there too - you are living in cloud cuckoo land - perhaps the RBA or the Bureau of Stats has a job for you |

I bought at 3.00 sold at 2.85, rebought at 2.70 and sold again at 3.25
I only recently bought back in at 3.20
