Hi Rodney :)
the crow recipe I know involves boiling the crow in a cast iron pot with a river stone and a few veggies.
Boil said mix for 12 hours the take out the crow and toss it away and eat the stone with the soup as it will be a lot more tender than the crow he he :)
PS ROO tail soup and steaks aren't bad actually and they are more healthy for us humans than beef they say:)

Hi Steve :)
I remember that life:)
I read your answer to Ausguy and you didn't say but I am guessing you raise beef cattle on your ranch and the beef is sold to the local market and exported to Ja_pan - am I right? Also If this is true what breed of beef cattle do you run on your property, Hereford, Angus, Brahman or some other breed? I rather liked the Angus my father used to breed. The bull was massive!! Its a wonder the cows didn't collapse he he :)
I suppose you could run a beef ranch while "semi retired" But it would not be all that easy without a lot of hired help! So you are doing well to keep it running. Do you still run out with a tractor and hay on a trailer or a ute to feed the critters when they are feeding calves? Do they trust you to walk up and touch them while you are feeding them and come to your call?
You lead an interesting life but I don't suppose it would work for everyone. Thanks for the info :)

Congratulations firefly_au!
Always nice to bring a trophy home!
By the way, although I have no idea how it tastes boiled, (cannot say that it sounds all that nice)... But I can assure you that it tastes very good when partaken in the form of a well cooked pie. Much like pigeon. Though can be a little tougher.
Give it a try!
Ingredients:
1 crow
stuffing of your choice
salt and pepper
shortening
flour
2 pie crust mixes
2 to 3 hard-boiled eggs
Preparation:
Stuff the crow.
Loosen joints with a knife but do not cut through.
Simmer the crow in a stew-pan, with enough water to cover, until nearly tender, then season with salt and pepper.
Remove meat from bones and set aside.
Prepare pie crusts as directed (Do not bake).
Make a medium thick gravy with flour, shortening, and juices in which the crow has cooked and let cool.
Line a pie plate with pie crust and line with slices of hard-boiled egg.
Place crow meat on top.
Pour gravy over the crow.
Place second pie dough crust over top.
Bake at 450 degrees (225 C.) for 1/2 hour.
If the economic situation here gets much worse, (as I and others here believe it will do) we may all be eating CROW, cat, dog & quite possibly even Kangaroo meat on a more regular basis before too long :) |

Hi Bias :)
You were right mate I just checked I did say 5100 and you said 4800 on the ASX200 at close on the Friday before Xmass. I still reckon I could be eating crow mate but you never know :) I wonder what boiled crow tastes like? he he :) That puts the deciding line at 4950 on the ASX200 index. Do you agree?
Sorry about fudging before - I wasnt certain if I said 5100 or 5150 so rather than error in my favour I went your way.
It is good that you are well mate and the "yours" refers to anyone important in your life mate not just your Ex (by the sound of it) :)
Things seem to be picking up a bit at my work these days so I hope it starts to pick up at yours soon!
On another note I had a bit of luck on the weekend at the motorcycle rally. I entered my chrome girlfriend into the show and shine competition and somehow she won second place out of about 50 bikes on display. So I am not the only one who reckons she is gorgeous he he :) I brought home a rather nice trophy which is now sitting in the Xtal cabinet:)

For hdmausguy, (cont. from below) -
I am now and have been for many years a ranch owner and property manager.
It was my good fortune to have had the opportunity to grow up in a small country town where my father worked as a police officer.
From an early age, I realised that my heart was and always would be connected to the land in a way which is even now hard for me to explain.
After years spent working from hand to mouth on various ranches around Australia doing odd jobs here and odd jobs there I inherited a small amount of money from my Mothers grandmother.
Along with the small inheritence came a note.
She had written. "You are an Australian. Be proud and make this a country to which others may turn and look with envy. Grow things to feed your fellow countrymen and strive to do all that you can do to make this country great and the people who live here prosperous and healthy."
I used the money she had bequeathed to me to buy a small ranch and began what was to become a rewarding yet extremely challenging journey which in time resulted in my becoming a successful, (both financially and I think personally) rancher.
Though I now travel extensively both within Australia and also overseas I maintain my homestead on the same piece of land which I bought so long ago.
Albeit, the total amount of land which I own has increased significantly over the years.
The produce from the land which I still own and manage, (I am now semi-retired) is consumed domestically and also exported to countries such as J A P A N. |

Good evening Ralph!
Yes! I am also of the oppinion that much if not all of what the government of the Peoples Republic of China quote in the form of "economic data" is as you have described it in your post below.
Furthermore, I also agree that it goes without saying that unless the economy of the U. S. of A. does recover quickly and strongly we shall see the facts revealed soon enough. |

One Huge Lie!
It has been written here on these pages that the economy of the P. R. of China is strong, improving and likely to continue growing.
In this regard, I believe the time has come for me to say -
"HOG WASH!!"
Goodness me. It never ceases to amaze me how far people will go to push their own point of view in the face of facts which make it only too obvious that what they are attempting to have us believe is nothing more than HOT AIR!
The FACT is that the P. R. of China`s economy is incapable of standing on its own. Far less capable of real recovery of growth when the economies of its major "customers" have all but destroyed what demand there once was for the products produced on its soil and sold overseas.
Increasingly, many state that most if not all of the financial data upon which the P. R. of China government base their "claims" of economic success and growth are quite possibly just "fake" reports composed by the government, for the government simply in order to maintain face rather than accurate and honest representations of the true state of the national economy.
I for one, (having travelled to and spent time in the P. R. of China) am convinced that we shall see an utter and total collapse of the economy of the P. R. of China in the very near future should a real and signifiucant upturn in the economic health of the U. S. of America not be soon realised. |

LOL Bias :)
As I recall you predicted 4800 and I went for 5150 by the Friday before Xmass he he :) The closest guess wins!
The way things have stalled and the effect of a strong A$ is making it look like you have it in the bag mate! But I still have my fingers Xed if it does get over 4975 I win the game if not you win! So good luck to you to mate :)
I must admit though I reckon I may have been a bit too optimistic in my guess unless there is a boat load of good news out of the US of A - ah well - it was just for fun!
Hows things with you and yours mate?

ECONOMIC RECOVERY - NOT YET!
As we near the end of the second to last month in the year of 2009 many claim that al is now well and that the worst is over.
DO NOT BE FOOLED MY FRIENDS!!
The very same economic problems which we and many others in the world faced earlier in the year remain.
UNDERLYING CAUSES have not been effectively addressed and there is still NO INDICATION of a REAL recovery.
Additionally, whereas much of the immediate effect of the worldwide economic downturn has been effectively lessened by the infusion of huge amounts of government funds into the economic blood stream here and abroad the fact is that unless the economy can recover to such an extent as to be able to "stand on it`s own two feet" without the support provided by "excessive government spending" the collapse which steve_b_wilson, I and others here on this BLOG have forecast shall indeed occur.
The pending roll back of "stimulus measures" and the fact that the economy remains weak clearly indicates that we should all be cautious and review our financial plans so as to ensure that we survive the pending economic collapse as well as possible. |

almurrie1,
We can see which generation brought you forth into the world, for it appears that violence and threats are your accepted behaviour code, whilst you live under the delusion that 'correct' spelling and punctuation is the best way to improve communication between generations, all the while assuming in your old timer arrogance that the younger generation can teach you nothing.
I wonder why they are not inclined to take on your ideals.?
Could it be that they have been exposed to enough history to have worked out in their youthful commonsense and normal desire to enjoy their time on this planet, that flexible, fluent, and flowing communication is part of the cure for mans insane drive to destroy himself.
Think on it <3

Perhaps a brain inside your head that knows how to pull out all stops so you can understand an artistic freeflowing collection of criticisms that pretty much accurately describes your concrete mind patterns, would bring you up to date, old timer |

LOL "whinger" Jay didn't seem to mind my input and I was conversing with him. Big nose and all he he :) You are sometimes amusing IMO :)
After taking another look around the forum I believe you may be another well known ID carrying on as usual with a new ID just to post insult!
It is my hope that one day you and others may come to realize the stuff you post says more about your nature and personality or lack thereof than it does about the person you are attacking! When this day comes what you post may even be worth the time needed to read it.
So I am sorry to have commented as I would have preferred we ignored each other!
But I was conversing with Jay and not you so if you don't mind - I will say what I like, when I like, to others that know my ID as I will not shirk responsibility for anything I post or invent an ID on the spot to hide behind while I post insults like some others I could mention!
