The problem is not of racism but with the Indian students.
They cant blend into the culture because they cant speak English or are from doggy universities. This has finally come out in the open http://au.messages.yahoo.com/finance/finance_gener al/381
Many Indians think they cant be racist because of their misconception that white people are only racist. They make this mistake while themselves being communal minded or discriminate on the basis of religion towards other Indians, caste etc.
As an Indian I have often been discriminated against because I belong to a particular minor community. Just look at how some of the Indian communities try and promote and help their own but will suppress others with hatred.
Accuse others of being racist but this is not racism its ok because in India things were always like that! Australia is truly racist because it fits with our logic of what racism is supposed to be. |

Article from: The Australian
Kevin Rudd has arrived back in Australia minus a road map on how to extricate Stern Hu or his own government from the messy unravelling of the relationship with Australia's most important trading partner.
The fact that this undermines China's own self interest and reputation doesn't help Australia's predicament. To the extent that China is damaged, so is Australia given the interdependence of the economic relationship.
West Australian Premier Colin Barnett is about to head off to China on a long-scheduled trip at the end of this week. This trip had been planned in part to reassure the Chinese that their investment in the Australian resources industry is "welcome and needed".
Hopefully, the Premier will have somewhat more luck than Trade Minister Simon Crean did in his attempts to talk to senior officials about the case of Hu and won't be similarly dismissed with a deputy's deputy. It will probably help Barnett's reception that he has consistently made clear his support for greater Chinese investment and for the now collapsed Chinalco deal with Rio Tinto. More recently, he also criticised the federal government's failure to establish a more mature political and economic relationship with China and told The Australian last week that China wanted to be treated with greater "respect".
Despite the government's firm assertions that the issue is being dealt with in a responsible and appropriate manner, its efforts are obviously hitting the Great Wall.
That says a lot about the state of relations between Canberra and Beijing leading up to this debacle. |

Hi Guys, It is amazing how we get influenced... lets take a step back... My grandfather moved from Europe and so have almost every white person's in Australia... I must also say that it was shameful enough for me in international conference where I was representing AU and was asked a question about AU being the 3rd racist country in the world after 2 other countries from Europe... Can we think about the following before we say anything about any other race or asians or Indians or any one else...:
1) what if international students stop coming here, suddenly almost 100000 homes will not be rented and 100000 landlords will have to even go broke or reduce rent... suddenly there will be less investors in the market thus the whole economy will slow down. These students bring $16 Billion ( as per govt stats. almost half is contributed by Indians). If you are working in tourism or hospitality or telco or any industry. these guys are basically paying your salaries, Payin salaries of almost all lecturers and professors and admin, finance and sales/marketing staff etc.
2) What if we stop immigration: The impact will be same as above and financially even worst.
To put things in perspective... Kevin Rudd have put in 20 Billion in stimulus package thinking that it would help Australia get out of recession... Now think we we stop international students from coming here in Australia, Australia will go broke. Country can only survive if there is growth in educated population which can only be achieved by immigration.
County can only be rich and famous by opening up doors to multinational companies and selling whatever they can.
Asian countries are rich and smarter than our and we will like other so called developed nations are in-fact so far behind in technology, in culture, in everything... and now we are being categorized as racist country.
All I can say is that there are some shamefully racist comments below, lets grow above them all and help AU be the friendliest nati ... |

"Will racism affect business with asia"
erm no.. because Asia IS the racist centre of the world. They are quite use to it. To them, Australia is like heaven :)
287 people killed in China recently due to racial tension. It's a regular occurrence over there. |

John Garnaut, The Age
July 12, 2009
Rudd knows everything a Western political leader could hope to know about China and the importance of understanding how China works.
Rudd went on to write that Australian policy-making had been coloured by the distorting paradigms through which Australia looked at the Asia region, and particularly China.
He said the paradigm began in the 19th century as racial superiority and blurred in the last century with "a more fundamental and visceral sense of strategic paranoia".
Unfortunately, Rudd appeared to leave these sensible thoughts behind when he became PM.
With the exception of his famous "Zhengyou" speech at Peking University last year, he ducked the responsibility to lead on China. His Government's policy ambivalence towards Chinese investment encouraged those in Australia who believed that Chinese money was something to be feared. His advisers played up the China military threat, or encouraged journalists to believe that his Defence White Paper had played up that threat.
The leadership vacuum on China was quickly filled by the shrill and ill-informed.
Australia's business and political leaders needed to be assisting those in China who saw the world as an economic opportunity rather than a security threat. The risk of doing otherwise, of playing up the threat of "China Inc", was that it would become self-fulfilling. |

Funeral held for murdered student in Tas
Paul Carter, SMH
July 11, 2009
A Chinese woman had to be sedated after being overcome by grief at the Hobart funeral of her slain student daughter.
Ambulance officers were called to sedate the mother of 26-year-old accountancy student Zhang Yu during the crematorium service on Saturday morning.
An inconsolable Mrs Yu wept for much of the ceremony and also needed to be carried by four mourners to make an offering at a Buddhist prayer fire.
Ms Yu arrived in Tasmania 18 months ago to study for an accounting masters degree after completing undergraduate studies in Canada.
Police allege she was struck on the head inside a Hobart unit after a chance meeting with the two men during a night out on June 25.
Around 100 international students studying in Hobart earlier attended two memorials for her. |

The Indians with their caste system have racism embedded in their culture and did have way before the English took over admin control. China is the most racist country on earth except maybe J@pan. The most moderate Asian regimes are in South East Asia.
It’s difficult to compare ANZ with the USA & the UK as we are only emerging countries by comparison, but compared to Asia we are nothing in the spread of time.
The countries that are not inhibited by Religion (India or Catholic countries) or social withdrawal (China) dominate the poor countries or the emerging ones now.
When you say the Asians will keep buying our products (minerals) yes they will and whatever they can they will take by stealth ie several African Countries now being subjected to bad trade contracts with India and China. These two countries will be more adapt at Financial Colonialism than the Americans can ever hope to be. Two Countries that spring to mind are Fiji, Indian and the Philippines, Chinese perhaps you could complain about there from your perspective. That’s creeping financial takeover; NZ is now heavily on the way to Asian Small Business domination especially shops etc are being taken over just as Fiji is, and so it goes on?
You tell us that Asia will take our minerals, for decades to come of course they will where else can they get them except Africa with unfair practices.
And for the present they need the West to buy back the products they produce from our minerals, so they can get the time to build an infrastructure, this is only a great big J@pan all over again. When they build the infrastructure they will have their own internal markets.
Both India and China have big Diasporas now and growing bigger annually, only the Jews can match them.
Your friend talks about only the Aboriginals belong here, and I presume the Maoris in NZ, then wouldn’t your lot do well far easier to take them over, but again then there would be no infrastructure.
Sorry mate the world is going Global ... |

Asher Moses, Sydney Morning Herald
July 2, 2009
A presenter for a NSW community radio station that specialises in multicultural programming has been reprimanded after she was revealed to be an administrator of several racist, anti-immigration groups on Facebook.
In posts on the site she ridiculed foreigners who did not have a good grasp of English, claimed the Islamic faith was destroying the Australian way of life and said that attacked Indian students should go back home to study.
She also wrote that groups of immigrants tended to develop a "mob mentality", claimed KKK members she knew were "intelligent" and that she did not want immigrants who did not speak English or assimilate into "the Australian life" to be allowed into the country.
Of bashed Indian students, she said they were "playing the victim card" and "the s--t around their head must do something to their brain".
"Maybe a gun to their head might help them get the hint that they are not wanted here!!," she wrote. |

It is a shame the world can't work as one & N-clear/chemical weapons continue to be made.
The trouble with terrorism is each side sees the other as the terrorist.
Both sides claim they don't want to kill people but have to for their cause. |

It seems you have almost completed a takeover of this blog, crikey you are on the march already.
The Australian in the city and the one in the country are entirely different people, the country ites are just as productive as any immigrant, I lived and worked with them a lot whenever I was back in this country. For me they are the salt of the earth, but I dont know many townies. I have found this so in a few countries, NZ, Fiji, USA, Holland, but one thing all have in common is the fear of the Asian hordes. I have looked at the n-clear bunkers in Sth California close to San Diego and wandered how we got here, seems we need to first subjugate then trade on our terms with those so controlled.
Unfortunately Financial Colonialism is a dud and wont work, and these massive weapons of destruction are just there as a carrot for the terrorists to dream of having.
India & Pakistan now face each other N-clear armed and rattle their sabres while the middle east continue its biblical way.
Will all this affect trade with Asia, not at all?
Maybe Asia could trade with Africa or Sth AMerica, then they would be in the same position as the west but trading down not up.
In fact nothing has changed except the financial structures the wheels have fallen off the cart, they need to put new ones on, meantime we wait with bated breath, knowing our wheels are the best.
However this may, be never let the doomsday prophets pollute ones mind, the worlds path cannot be subjugated to the few easily, or without any effort, fear is the greatest destructive element that controls the mind of man, fear not and all sorts of problems will dissapear, Vince |

Hi Jay, Australia once had the all white policy which as the name infers was preferential to the Caucasian immigrant, it was discarded but I cannot remember the dates.
NZ although it wasnt as open as here was in fact far more discriminatory in practice.
WE need to be careful though, I have been to countries that seem to have abrogated their sovereignty to either Indian or Chinese entreprenuers and look like being over run. Its a little like the Muslims that seem to be breeding so rapidly in certain countries and gaining a stronger than healthy foothold.
We need to remember the balance of power isnt decided by the numbers rather by the strategies used, Vince |

So racism didn't exist in the early colonisation days or Pauline Hansen days?
If look into it more whites are attacked each year than asian or blacks, the attackers are just thug looking for any excuse. |

This is an interesting topic. I definitely think Australia is awash in rascism. It wasn't always like this. I think the psychology has changed since the false flag 9/11 bombings.
It's a shame, because I remember Australian as being a country were everyone was given a fair go. I attribute this to the dumbing down of our society. Most people are complacent and too lazy to seek out the truth. They are content in their bubble and believe anything that is transmitted via the mainstream media. The majority of Australians are ignorant and intolerant of Asian culture.
Of course there are exceptions but that is the general trend. |

Sorry vincent got side tracked on the racism part of the title.
I don't think it will effect trade with asia because it's only about the money, just like a company that makes bombs. You don't stop making them just because they will kill people as long as your making money from the sale.
If Asia financialy gains from buying Australia or Australian then the purchase will still go ahead. |

Hi Jay, by that criteria I am a selective racist. My 15 grandchildren look like a league of nations from blonde blue eyes to darkies.
I had my 3 daughters living with me in the States, and when they started saying how much they liked the look of the black males, I sent them home. Not because i dont like blacks, but because I didnt want them to marry a black who left them alone to raise any children.
But this is supposed to be about trade with Asia isnt it? That wont be affected, because our position is too stong and unique in the end, thats why our sovreignty would be at risk without strong friends. ANZ have built up strong economies, but they would be quickly subverted and taken over by Asia if that were possible.
Lets look at some of the Chinese trade contracts in Africa, they are no different than the Americans. Future latter day financial colonialists in the making. India and Russia are the same, but they wont make the mistakes in their quest for controls as the Yanks did.
There is a fear here of Asia mainly of the Chinese because of their sheer size, but thats just a part of the problem. India as a supposed capital democracy is similar, but all of these countries would like to control Australia, and its natural wealth.
I know I sound like a broken record, but thats why we need effective trade groups, there must be an effective world umbrella. Not Reagon style but trade, financial and security accomadation for all. Vince |

The best way to tell if your a racist is to ask yourself 'Would I be okay about my children marrying & having a family with any other race?'
You may be surprised how many racists are out there & they exist in every race! |

Its hard to understand what the problem really is, I have found that racisim always seems to be a two edged sword. I am a NZ Maori and grew up at a time of strong racial prejudice, but as an adult its never been a problem, at least not to my face, maybe behind my back, dont know dont care. As a child, youngster and young adult, it was tough, but from the mature age of 34 there has never been a problem.
I came to Australia in 1970 and spent 5 years in the USA and Europe the only abuse I ever had was at home, good old Kiwi.
Asians seem to want to be accepted very quickly, even though they are the strongest Racists of all. I remember the Italians and Greeks they had to wait for some time to be assimilated but who notices them now, none of us.
The comments about the preference for Americans and English, for goodness sake how silly can we be. The Yanks saved Australia WW 11 and they are the natural allies now, personally I thank them for helping us. Without them we would likely be under a real yoke now, and the world would be very different.
The new world USA, Canada, Australia and NZ are all Caucasian settled territories settled from the UK mainly, but we in ANZ are isolated from our natural allies by distance. If WW3 should eventuate, centred in Asia how vulnerable will we be? Our countries and our products will v@nishh into the Asian swarm and we will have no say.
Racism is the cry that follows the Caucasian, but lets be honest, I am glad we never had the French, Sp@nish, Dutch etc; we would all be in the third world complex now working for pennies.
Dont throw the colored card I know it well, its always the losers of my race who cry foul, those who assimilated say thanks, but now what can we take off you Pakeha's.
Whats wrong with that Mr. India man or Indian boy and girl, just do the same take back what you think those whities are taking of you, is berry good moit, the aussies may whinge but who cares? |
