Key Issues of Finance in a Company

What are the key issues of finance to address in a company?

I'm currently doing a course in uni called Work Integrated Learning. There's been an assignment given to us and we've been briefed by a general manager from the company (company called Murray Goulburn; a dairy).

Now, we are asked to address the key issues that the company have. As I major in Finance, my task is to look at the company's annual report and address the issues their financial position and all.

My question is... what possible issues are there commonly have in all company and how can I start? And by looking at the balance sheets and income statements, what can I get of it?
