| One time, two dear old ladies sat right behind us. One of them talked to her friend all the way through the flick. Annoying, yes, but we found out that one of them was deaf, so the other lady had to tell her what was going on. What can you do? We couldn't complain. What annoys the hell out of me is when people can sit where they want, but decide to come in late from the munchie bar and decide to sit in your row and climb over you to get to the seat on the other end of the row. AAAAHHHH!!!!!! AND THEY DON'T EVEN APOLOGIZE!!! Boy, would I like to punch their popcorn buckets just to see that stuff fly and then they'd have to go buy more!!! Oh wait, then they'd climb over me again: I'm outta here!!! |

I once walked out of a cinema and complained directly to the 15 yo usher about a few morons talking loudly in the movie.
Luckily the youngster followed it up with the manager and the culprits were quickly shut up.
Unfortunately with mobile phones - many people feel that they have a right to talk or even text during a movie. Sometimes the texting is more irritating cos the infra red light glows and distracts you from watching the movie.
For many years I just tolerated talkers and other nuisances in the cinema - but it happens so regularly nowadays, I just tell the culprit to shut up or turn off the phone! The looks I get are priceless. THEY think I AM BEING UNREASONABLE!!!!
But be warned - sometimes you get some macho moron who decides to pick a fight with you if you tell them to turn off the phone. This happened to me during a screening of American Gangster and the lovely neanderthal actually threatened me with "death" if I said anything more to him. I quickly changed seats as soon as I could. Very scary! |

It annoys the hell out of me too, I hate bad manners.
My partner and I usually go during a work day, sometimes there is just a handful of people, and there are no annoying phones or people chatting etc. Timing is everything, I'd rather pay a bit more and enjoy the peace, I avoid busy bargain price times. |

Easy solution folk's.
Don't go to public cinema's.
Problem solved.
i certainly dont have access to a private cinema and i really like going to the movies. i know it doesnt take long for movies to come out on DVD but sometimes i like to see them on the big screen. it isnt cheap going to the movies these days so why should we put up with the selfish ones that talk, play with their phones etc |

Yep, my hubby & I hate that sort of stuff too.
A reason why we choose now mainly to see 9pm/9:30pm movies on Tuesday nights.
We had a good one when we went to see a movie once - a woman in front of us sat there & stank the cinema out with nail polish while she painted her toes! |

Or the ones who stick their feet on the back of your seat!!!
I don't know why people have to yak at the movies, but I have also been with a friend of mine, who very pointedly turned around and told someone to please be quiet!
Nothing worse than someone who's already seen the flick and gives a running commentary! |

| Yeah me too. Have a friend who does this and only thing that shut her up was when another movie-goer told her to be quiet! Since then, she's doing it again, so I've given up and don't go with her. |

| Hey I totaly agree with you there, I can't stand it when people talk during the film.. I just saw Iron Man the other day and thought it was great and the good thing is that including me there was only 5 people in the cinima so this time was great.. |

worst are those people who come in groups of 5 or 6...
theatres are a place to watch movies NOT a place to hang out and catch up on all the news... they have places outside the theatre for that... |

Having just returned from a screening of Iron Man in Sydney i have to vent: WHY do some people insist on talking all the way through a movie, managing to totally pi$$ off other punters who have paid good money to watch in peace?!?!?!?!
If your other half doesnt have the brains to figure out the basic plot developments in your standard Hollywood film, watch it at home and explain it to her in minute detail, nobody else wants to know! |
