| I've been looking for the exact title of that cartoon too... I was like 7 yers old when I saw that movie, and I totally loved it. All I could remember was it was something like a fire fairy and a water fairy...I could vaguely remember the last part, showing some kind of sunflowers rising - it wasn't a good ending... | No, it's not fire and ice. I think what you're looking for is The Sea Prince and the Fire Child. It's an animated film by Sanrio, based on the story by Shintaro Tsuji. It is named Shiriusu no densetsu (literally Legend of Sirius) in the original Japanese version. It is said to be a loose retelling of Romeo and Juliet. | You're not talking about "Thumbelina" are you? I seem to remember an animated version of this fairy tale, where Thumbelina meets a fairy boy (lol), they fall in love, she leaves her mother's house and gets into all kids of strife, she winds up living with Mr. Mole or something, and the fairy dude has to rescue her. Because she was so small she was always hiding out in wierd spots like flowers, tin cans and stuff. | I remember one of my teachers in grade school showing us this cartoon movie and all I can recall is that there are 2 main characters- a girl and a boy and they are magical in some way and I think they are in love. The girl is related in some way to fire- she's a fire fairy or something. Somehow they get seperated & the boy is trying to rescue her ( i think she's being held in a giant flower/plant that looks a bit like a venus fly trap)but he is related to water (water fairy?) and can't go to where she is because he'll die (becasue she's being held in an area that is related to fire). I don't know any character names or anything- but I think saw it was between 1987-1991. so it had to have come out before then at least.
