In MISERY (the Stephen King film), James Caan gets his ankles smashed to pieces with a sledgehammer by the psycho character played by Kathy Bates. I AM NEVER WATCHING THAT FILM AGAIN! She freaked me right out!
the book is so much better |

Anthony Hopkins as 'Hannibal Lecter'.....
"Silence of the Lambs"
Hannibal Lecter: Why do you think he removes their skins, Agent Starling?
[sarcastically]
Hannibal Lecter: Enthrall me with your acumen.
Clarice Starling: It excites him. Most serial killers keep some sort of trophies from their victims.
Hannibal Lecter: I didn't.
Clarice Starling: No. No, you ate yours.
"Hannibal"
Paul Krendler: Who's agent Starling?
Hannibal Lecter: Paul, I told you, if you're going to be rude to our guests you'll have to sit at the kiddie table.
(as Lecter eats Krendler's brains) |

Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb in James Bond's "From Russia With Love".
Honourable mention to Guy Boyd as Masala in "Ben Hur" - his death scene was great. |

| I'd have to go with Hannibal with Marlon Brando in Godfather One coming in a close second. The most evil villian would bring a different answer. |

Nero who killed his mother, his wife, killed St Paul and he had Rome burnt to the ground for his inspiration and blamed the Christians in his era for the inferno.
Another nastie is that black suit guy in the Matrix movie (can't remember which one out of the 3).
Vincent Price - he's gotta be the creepiest of them all.
Deadly Earnest (a late-night show presenter screened in Melbourne) - even though he looked macabre it's funny that he never scared me (maybe because I was 17 y.o. then). |

Gotta be Michael Myers from Halloween. Saw it for the first time when I was 19 and still had nightmares about it when I was 25. The first time I saw it at the flicks, the guys screamed louder than the girls! Hilarious!
Also, Draco the dragon from Dragonheart: Sean Connery did the voice. Beautiful character, evil, but good, too. |

Have to agree with many other posted with Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber in Die Hard as well as Darth Vader but would also add:
Samara Morgan in The Ring 1 and 2
Agent Smith from The Matrix trilogy
Kevin Spacey in Se7en and The Usual Suspects (mainly because you don't know he is the villan until the end)
I also think John Travolta played the better villan in face of then Nic Cage (who was also good). |

so many movies, and so many villains! - an impossible question!
Bad Santa (Billy Bob Thornton) sticks out in my mind...thinking about it there were at least 4 villainous characters in that movie too! and they were brilliantly played. |

I'm fond of the early James Bond villains who all had strange idiosyncracies :-
- Goldfinger paints his victims to death in gold paint
- Killer in "Goldfinger" who decapitates victims with his razor sharp bowler hat
- "Jaws" in Moonraker who bites people to death
- Wheelchair bound Blofeld who has a fluffy white cat, and who Mike Myers used to model Dr Evil. |

"The purple Wiggle that sleeps all the time. You just know he is up to something....." (macrossdblack)
lol. yes he could be up to something. You never know with the wiggles. They could be plotting a mass world take-over (which, in a way, they nearly have achieved. Do you know how many kids love the wiggles) |
